The Frozen Heart is a low-key winter race for trail loving runners. Runners of all abilities are encouraged to challenge themselves to complete one of the three available distances.
The 3 loop course provides for 3 event distances - 50K, 34K, 17K, or 3 person 50k relay. Take on the *NEW* Chesapeake Challenge and complete the Frozen Heart 50K in February and the Lower Potomac Marathon in March!!
This is the 4th annual Frozen Heart and Southern Maryland's only ultra event!!
The Frozen Heart race benefits WARM (Wrapping Arms 'Round Many) which works in partnership with the Three Oaks Center to provide safe and welcoming shelter during the coldest months of the year to adults impacted by homelessness. WARM offers a place to sleep, two hot meals, and a sense of community to program guests. Run with purpose!
The Frozen Heart is organized by the Chesapeake Bay Running Club (CBRC) an all volunteer non-profit 501(c)(3) organization who's mission is to promote physical fitness in Southern Maryland. CBRC sponsors championship road and trail races, fun runs/walks, and other social events. We welcome and encourage the experienced as well as the inexperienced runner/walker and recognize our people with various awards for activities throughout the year.
